Simple Steps for Starting Your Business
 
Score Northwest Connecticut is presently conducting the "Simple Steps for Starting a Business" workshop in conjunction with the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce and the Rotary.  This workshop began January 19 with the remaining four sessions being conducted at the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce offices, 200 Main St, Bristol from 6 - 9 PM beginning this Monday February 2.  These sessions will include the following:

Session 2: Business Concept

Monday - February 16, 6 - 9PM

Session Overview

The second workshop focuses on their business concept and step-by-step guidance in researching their idea, their market, and their competition. At the end of the Business Concept workshop, the client will be able to identify their target markets, describe their products and services, and collect key competitive information to support their feasibility plan.

Session 3: Marketing Plan

Monday - February 23, 6 - 9PM

Session Overview

The third workshop provides clients with an introduction to marketing communication methods and tools to maximize their customer reach. The discussion in the Marketing Plan workshop covers pricing strategies, positioning, the difference between features and benefits, and different marketing strategies. At the end of this session, clients will know how to: outline their marketing strategy, test their marketing message, choose the right sales channel, and exercise their marketing strategy.

Session 4: Financial Projections

Monday - March 2, 6 - 9PM

Session Overview

The fourth workshop uses exercises to help you better understand financial concepts. This session reviews sales and prices, financial risks and rewards, true startup costs, ongoing operating expenses, setting benchmarks for tracking progress and the organization of all your financial information. Using a hands-on approach, you learn how to use our financial model to forecast sales revenue and build solid pro-forma financial forecasts.

Session 5: Funding Sources

Monday - March 9, 6 - 9PM

Session Overview

The final workshop offers information on how to finance your small business. In this session, discussions include sources of funds, accounting, the six C's of credit, banking relations, ratio analysis, and monthly preparation and review of financial statements. A bank loan officer will give an inside view of how a banker assesses the merits of business plans and loan application. At the end of the series, you have all of the tools necessary to decide whether or not to launch your small business.

Simple Steps for Growing Your Business 

SCORE Northwest Connecticut in conjunction with the Northwest Connecticut Chamber of Commerce is presently developing a 6 session workshop "Simple Steps for Growing Your Business" beginning March 24th and continuing for 5 consecutive Tuesdays.  SAVE THE DATES.  More information to follow.  


The 2015 Business Forum

The Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce will be conducting a Business Forum on March 12, 2015.  SCORE Northwest Connecticut chapter will be participating on one of the round table discussions.  More information to follow.
